Red Panda: The Himalayan Charmer

The red panda, often called the “lesser panda,” is a tree-dwelling mammal native to the Himalayan forests. With its reddish-brown fur, bushy tail, and adorable face, the red panda is a crowd favorite. In the zoo, red pandas live in elevated enclosures with plenty of trees and platforms for climbing. Their diet consists of bamboo, fruits, and occasionally small insects. Visitors love watching them nap in tree branches or explore their environment with curious energy. Keeper talks often emphasize the threats red pandas face in the wild, such as deforestation, and the zoo’s role in protecting their habitats.
